The Citizens Advice service has always had
two twin aims: to give advice and to seek to influence
national and local services and policies.
Citizens Advice has a central role in speaking
up for clients, seeking to raise the issues brought
into bureaux and contribute to public debate and
inform legislation. Ynys Môn CAB is working
for these ideals here on the island.

| The Community
Financial Literacy Project |
|
The Community Financial Literacy
project started in November 2002 and is will run for
three years. We have a Project Manager, a Rural Caseworker,
a Community Fieldworker and an Administration Worker.
|
|
The aim of the project is to
hold training workshops, give informative talks and
facillitate discussion groups on all financial literacy
topics such as:
|
|
Tax
Credits
|
Pension
Credits
|
|
Budgeting
|
Bank
Accounts
|
|
Credit
and Debt
|
Utilities
|
In fact, anything to do with
financial literacy!
|
|
The Project also offers one-to-one
advice and support forpeople in rural areas. We offer
a home visit service for people who can't come to
our bureaux because of disability, childcare resposibilities
or lack of funds for transport. We hope to introduce
advice sessions in all Community First areas and recruit
localpeople to work in them.
|
|
We welcome enquiries from all
community groups, clubs or secondary schools. We can
help raise financial awareness for all age groups
in all areas of the island.
|
|
If you'd like to book a talk,
discussion group or workshop, or just want some information
about the Project, please contact our Llangefni Bureau
and ask for the Financial Literacy Project team.
